The Sacred Mysteries

The seven sacraments

The sacraments are efficacious signs of grace, instituted by Christ and entrusted to the Church, by which divine life is given to us. Our parish is privileged to celebrate them at every stage of life's journey.

i.

Baptism

The gateway to life in the Spirit, welcoming infants and adults into the Body of Christ and the family of the Church.

ii.

Eucharist

The source and summit of the Christian life — the Body and Blood of Christ, celebrated at every Mass.

iii.

Confirmation

The gift of the Holy Spirit, strengthening the baptised to live and bear witness to the faith.

iv.

Reconciliation

The sacrament of God's mercy, offering forgiveness, healing and peace through confession.

v.

Anointing of the Sick

Christ's comfort, strength and healing grace for those who are ill, frail or near the end of life.

vi.

Marriage

The covenant by which a man and woman form a lifelong partnership, a sign of Christ's love for the Church.

vii.

Holy Orders

The sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to his apostles continues in the Church.
